In poker, a hand consists of five cards, with the highest hand winning. A player can have only one of these five cards, or he can discard them and take another four from the deck. Players can use one card from their hand to make the best hand, and then make a bet to the pot.<\/p>\n
Poker is played with a standard deck of 52 cards, but some variant games add jokers or use more than 52. In each hand, a player has five cards, which are ranked from Ace high to Ace low. Each player receives a card from a shuffled deck, and the player with the highest card is the dealer. The first dealer then shuffles and cuts the deck clockwise, while the next player to their left advances the steps of play.<\/p>\n
