Generally, Poker is a gambling game where players bet on the value of their hand. The goal of the game is to build a pot. In some variant games, players can use Wild Cards. These cards are any suit, and can take the place of any other card.<\/p>\n
A standard pack of cards contains 52 cards. The cards are ranked from Ace to King. Poker is played with 5-7 players. A standard game of poker may require players to place an ante into the pot. The ante is usually a small bet, usually $1 or $5.<\/p>\n
The dealer deals two cards to each player. The player to the left of the dealer’s button is the first person to bet. He or she puts down a small blind, and then the player to the left of that player posts a second blind. This is usually the same amount as the first blind.<\/p>\n
Once all the cards are dealt, each player will reveal his or her hand. The highest hand wins the pot. If there is a tie, the high card breaks the tie. If there are two or more people tied for the highest card, the highest pair wins.<\/p>\n
